Thursday Reads: Dancing Really IS The Best Exercise

Welcome to another edition of Thursday Reads, where I seek out the best couple of articles I’ve seen on the grand inter webs and post them here for you to read without having to sift through all the nonsense.

The two articles I share I each edition are usually thematically linked, and today is all about dancing! One of my favourite things to do when I need to move but don’t have time/can’t be bothered/don’t feel like getting my sneakers on and heading to the gym or out for a run is to simply have an impromptu dance party in my living room! And now there’s evidence as to why dancing is the best exercise…

– Amazing cardio workout (and when you get looooow there’s some pretty damn good muscle work too…constantly getting low through a song is basically like doing a hundred tiny squats!)

– Keeps that brain working. Learning choreography or following choreography is a great challenge for our minds, too, and has been proven to help stave off dementia.

– It makes you happy! That’s what the first article I’m recommending this week says, and I think they’re right on point. What do you think?

Recipe of the week: When you need a sweet treat after all that sweaty dancing, make sure you try one of these vegan, gluten-free Oh She Glows Carob Almond Freezer Fudge squares – soooooo good. Things supposedly last forever in the freezer, but ya know, I haven’t really had the chance to test that out with this recipe. It never lasts long enough!
