Cannes Film Festival 2012 Fashion – Part 2
Now that the Cannes Film Festival is officially over, I have rounded up my favourites from the photos that have emerged since my first Cannes fashion post last week.
I know we all had fun picking our favourites, so let’s do it all over again – what better on a Tuesday than fashion ogling, right??
Berenice Bejo (of The Artist fame) stunned in Giambattista Valli. I love her Olympia Le Tan clutch too – if you look closer you can see it looks like a book! They cost about $1500, believe it or not…
Diane Kruger was everywhere this festival! Of her shorter gowns, I loved this Chanel.
For her longer ones, I loved this vintage-look Nina Ricci gown. Nina Ricci used to dress Renee Zellweger all the time, and I love her dresses. They’re really classy and super flattering in their fit. If I ever had a few grand to throw on a dress, it would probably go Nina Ricci’s way ;).
Another repeat winner was my favourite, Jessica Chastain, in Armani Prive here…
…and my favourite gown on her, a gorgeous Gucci here.
Kristen Stewart is always a fashion favourite with you guys. Here she wore Balenciaga (she’s the new face of the brand) at the premiere for her new movie On the Road.
And later on she went wowzas in red Reem Acra at the premiere for Robert Pattinson‘s newest movie, Cosmopolis.
Kirsten Dunst returned to Cannes in support of her new movie On the Road (also featuring Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund, Amy Adams, Viggo Mortensen and more), and was returning as the reigning Best Actress winner from last year. She looked amazing in this Christian Dior – I love the colour!
I honestly have no idea what Kim Kardashian is doing at Cannes, but I really liked this Eli Saab dress she wore – great colour as well!
And as I said last time, I still don’t know why Eva Longoria was at Cannes either, but I’m glad she was so we could see this Emilio Pucci gown. Love the structure and the simplicity of the white.
It seems that all the models show up for Cannes, so it makes sense that Heidi Klum would join – and I love this Marchesa gown. Sometimes Marchesa dresses can look a bit costume-y, so I love how classy this one is.
This black Versace gown was my favourite of Freida Pinto‘s from this festival – she wore others which you can see in last week’s post.

Reese Witherspoon also wore Versace at the premiere of the movie Mud, which I thought was a great choice when you’re pregnant – she didn’t look huge in it at all! The empire waist was perfect here, and you so rarely see midnight blue done well (ie most of the time it seems it would have been better off just in black).
Kylie Minogue wore shiny metallic Dolce and Gabbana.
I really liked the colour of this Lanvin dress on Nicole Kidman. It reminded me of the Lanvin dress Emma Stone wore to the Golden Globes, in the sense that Lanvin do different shades of red/purple really well. They come up with unique colours I haven’t seen on gowns before – click on the link and check out Emma Stone’s and you’ll see what I mean!
And lastly, love the pattern on this Emilio Pucci gown on Jada Pinkett Smith.
QUESTION:
- I chose Eva Longorio’s Pucci dress as the lead photo because it was ultimately my favourite, I think. What’s yours?

That’s true, I see that Asian influence now! Heidi Klum is something of a goddess, I agree. I love her smile most of all though!

Terra Kroll
Ahh I love Jada’s dress. It’s like patch-work glam!
Why does Kristen Stewart always have such a sour puss on, it’s like she’s living her Twilight character with the emo teen angst!! Smile already, you’re at CANNES!!!

I love Eva Longoria’s gown! I think I read in the paper that she was there as a L’Oreal representative and they had something to do with the festival or one of the films? I could be totally making that up but I’m sure it had something to do with L’Oreal…

Oh that was probably me – last week I said she was there as a L’Oreal rep and L’Oreal was sponsoring the festival. This week I just meant it more tongue-in-cheek – as in, she sure is featuring on a lot of red carpets for just being there as a L’Oreal girl and not actually appearing in any films! But ah well, we got to see the dresses ;).

Yep, might have been you! Though there has been quite a lot of coverage in the newspapers over here of Cannes too, so it could have been both 😉 The dresses are the important part anyway (says someone who studied film at university, lol).
