Three Ways to Sparkle This Holiday Season!
Holiday season is upon us! Parties, soirees, get-togethers, family time…it all offers the opportunity to play dress up.
C’mon, we all know that at this time of year we have way more license to sparkle! There can never be too much sparkle at Christmas time :).
In the spirit of pushing our own fashion boundaries and dressing up to the nines, I’ve put together three looks for you to try out this winter. They’re all made up from affordable, easily available pieces but I’m sure you can find similar versions at your local mall if you prefer!
I went with black as the main theme partly because it’s majorly in trend this season, but also so that one or two items can pop with colour (and it doesn’t hurt that it’s universally flattering, just in case – you know – you ate a bit much at Thanksgiving ;)). If you want to showcase a different colour, go ahead!

I know, it’s so tempting but I still have a closetful of dresses that I haven’t worn. I always do that with dresses, I try it on and like it so I buy it and then never end up wearing it, so I am challenging myself: must wear all current dresses before buying new ones! Makes me so sad to miss out on all the sparkles :(!

I love anything sparkly! I have totally been lusting after long sleeved sequin mini dresses for the holidays or for my wedding rehearsal dinner, but they are all so ridiculously expensive 🙁

Aw shucks – well, this H&M one is $49.95 Canadian, so it’s probably cheaper on the US site as it tends to work out that way. Also, I saw this one at Lulus.com, it’s $85 US so a bit more but it’s pink sequins and GORGEOUS: http://www.lulus.com/products/rubber-ducky-sequin-dy-city-pink-sequin-dress/43271.html. If you have the skin tone to pull that off, go for it!
Also, this Rampage one from Dillards is $59 and the back is super cute (http://www.dillards.com/product/Rampage-LongSleeve-Sequin-Dress_301_-1_301_502904850). I didn’t have much luck finding sequin dresses for you under $50 though, unfortunately…you just might have to check out sales for that! Best of luck, let me know if you find that perfect dress!
